Pence, Bill Clinton, Will Ferrell politicking in N Carolina
The next-to-last weekend before Election Day is attracting plenty of big-time politicians, leaders of interest groups and even a Hollywood star to the presidential battleground of North Carolina.
Republican vice presidential candidate Mike Pence plans to speak at a Jacksonville rally Saturday, while former President Bill Clinton was campaigning for his wife at early-vote events in Greensboro and Charlotte.
AFL-CIO national executive Liz Shuler was attending get-out-the-vote events with union members in Raleigh, Fayetteville and Greensboro. A bus tour led by the conservative Family Research Council Action was stopping in Concord, Asheboro, Sanford and Pittsboro.
Then there’s actor and comedian Will Ferrell, who was heading to the North Carolina State University football tailgate to support Hillary Clinton. The “Anchorman” star also was scheduled to visit Durham and Carrboro campaign offices.
