Sheriff: 2 teens drown in river in southwest Mississippi
MCCOMB, Miss. (AP) — Two teenagers have apparently drowned in a river in southwest Mississippi.
Pike County Sheriff Kenny Cotton says the bodies of 19-year-old Laterrius Wilkinson and 13-year-old Zechariah White, both from McComb, were found Friday in the Bogue Chitto (BOH’-guh CHIT’-uh) River.
Cotton says the bodies were found near a bridge in the Holmesville community, southeast of McComb. He says the two appear to have died in accidental drownings.
The sheriff says the teens were reported missing Thursday, and a search didn’t find them before it was called off for the night. The bodies were found after noon on Friday.
