Pedestrian dies after being struck by semi near Wilton
WILTON, N.D. (AP) — Authorities say a pedestrian was killed after being struck by a semi-trailer while walking in the dark on U.S. Highway 83 south of Wilton.
The North Dakota Highway Patrol says the incident happened shortly before 2 a.m. Saturday. Sandra Finley, 35, of Mandaree, was walking in the southbound lane when she was struck by the southbound semi, the patrol said.
Finley was transported to a Bismarck hospital and then transferred to a Fargo hospital where she died, KFGO radio reported. The semi driver was not injured.
Wilton is 25 miles north of Bismarck.
