County commissioners accept bids for trailer
The Lincoln County Commissioners accepted a pair of bids for the Roads Department on Monday.
Roads Superintendent Carla O’Dell presented formal bids for a new bottom dump trailer and informal bids for new sanders for her department.
Of the two trailer bids, O’Dell recommended a 2018 Trail King from Nebraska Machinery Co. She also recommended adding an optional airlift rear axle to the bid. The commissioners accepted the bid for a total of $35,536.
Out of three bids for sanders, O’Dell said, the Buyers SaltDogg had the best statistics. The commissioners accepted the bid for $10,480.
Three informal bids for a new trailer were presented by Scott Moses of the Lincoln County Dive Team. One of these was an H&H model from Kohler Trailer Sales. Moses said the H&H model was a “very high quality” trailer.
“I looked at the one they had on hand out at Kohler’s,” Moses said. “It’s the one we’d like to use.”
The commissioners accepted the bid for $4,495.
The final formal bids came from the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office for four new pickup trucks. After trading in four older models, Sheriff Jerome Kramer said they’d like to accept a bid from Janssen Auto Group. The commissioners accepted for a total of $74,496.
Also Monday, the commissioners held a closed-session meeting regarding pending litigation and conducted the quarterly inspection of the Lincoln County Detention Center.
