Pierce Rips Two HR’s for Pelham

Lanna Pierce was the winning pitcher and chipped in offensively with 2 home runs and 5 RBI as Pelham beat Manchester West, 13-2, in a New Hampshire Division 2 softball game.


In a non-league game, Tewksbury blanked Lowell Catholic, 8-0.

In Merrimack Valley Conference play, Haverhill nipped Chelmsford, 6-5.

Madison Burke checked in with 4 hits, 1 RBI and 2 runs scored.

Julia Vawter added 3 hits and 2 RBI with 2 runs scored for the Pythons (6-5). Natalia Villanueva had 2 hits with 1 RBI and 1 run scored.

Shawsheen 13, Essex Tech 6


Katelyn Logue’s seventh-inning grand slam helped lift the visiting Rams to their fourth straight victory.

Shawsheen, which managed 19 hits, received at least a hit from every started.

Becca Smith continued to swing a hot bat as she went 4-for-5 with 2 RBI. Grace Clark added another 3 hits, and Alysha Cushing, Brooke Arena and Karissa Kakleas contributed 2 hits apiece.

Senior Carlee Wickwire went the distance, scattering 11 hits, while striking out 4 to get the win.

Concord-Carlisle 4, Westford 0

Home field advantage wasn’t enough for Westford to knock off Dual County League rival Concord-Carlisle.

Leading Westford’s offense by going 2-for-2 was Alyssa Graffeo. Marina Ottaviano went 1-for-2 with a walk, while Sydney McLaughlin went 1-for-4 for the Grey Ghosts.

Tewksbury 8, Lowell Catholic 0

Freshman Olivia Paulding was an all-around force while leading Tewksbury past Lowell Catholic in a non-league game.

Paulding pitched a 3-hit shutout with 13 strikeouts, and helped her own cause with 2 hits and 2 RBI.

Brooke Lamothe paced Tewksbury’s offense with 3 hits, including a home run.

Emily Butler added 2 hits with a triple and 2 RBI, while Isabella DeRoche smacked a 2-run single for Tewksbury (5-5).
