Central Michigan TE Tyler Conklin drafted by Vikings
Central Michigan tight end Tyler Conklin was picked by the Minnesota Vikings in the fifth round, No. 157 overall, in the NFL Draft on Saturday afternoon.
And to think Conklin started his college career as a basketball player at Northwood.
Conklin put himself on the radar his junior year, grabbing a pair of TD catches in a win over nationally-ranked Oklahoma State.
Conklin missed the first five games this past fall due to a broken foot, returning to make 28 receptions for 406 yards and five touchdowns.
Conklin, 6-foot-3 and 255 pounds, played in the Senior Bowl, making a 16-yard TD reception.
Now he will be working with former Michigan State quarterback Kirk Cousins with the Vikings.
