Redskins booed as team trails vs. Colts at halftime
LANDOVER The boo birds are out at FedEx Field.
The Redskins trail 14-3 at halftime Sunday to the Indianapolis Colts, generating only 121 yards of offense, in the process. Kicker Dustin Hopkins missed a 49-yard field goal attempt just before the end of the half.
After having a dominant rushing attack last week against the Arizona Cardinals, the Redskins haven’t been able to muster anything on the ground against the Colts. Running back Adrian Peterson has just one yardon three carries, while Chris Thompson has zero yards on three attempts.
Wide receiver Jamison Crowder is the Redskins’ leading rusher with 22 yards.
Quarterback Alex Smith is 10-of-16 for 97 yards.
The defense, meanwhile, has been inconsistent against quarterback Andrew Luck. Colts wide receiver T.Y. Hilton has already had a big day catching five passes for 71 yards. Indianapolis, too, was five-for-nine on third down.
The Colts’ two touchdowns came on a seven-yard strike to tight end Eric Ebron and an eight-yard run from running back Nyheim Hines.
Luck has 113 yards, a touchdown and an interception.
