September 12, 2017 GMT

Throughout the NFL season, we’ll check in with former Idaho State football players currently in the NFL. Here’s an update after the first week of the regular season.

Marvin Lewis (1978-80)

Cincinnati Bengals

Cincinnati lost its season-opening game 20-0 at home Sunday to the Baltimore Ravens. Bengals quarterback Andy Dalton threw a career-high five interceptions. Cincinnati was shut out in a season opener for the first time since Lewis was named head coach in 2003.

The Bengals (0-1) host the Houston Texans on Thursday night.

Evan Smith (2004-08) and Dirk Koetter (1977, 79-81)

Tampa Bay Buccaneers

The Buccaneers’ season-opening game Sunday against the Miami Dolphins at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami was cancelled because of Hurricane Irma.

The NFL moved the game to Nov. 19, when the teams were scheduled to share a bye week.

Tampa Bay hosts the Chicago Bears on Sept. 17.

Josh Hill (2009-12)

New Orleans Saints

Hill played in the Saints’ season-opening 29-19 loss Monday at the Minnesota Vikings, but did not register a catch.

The Saints (0-1) host the New England Patriots on Sunday.
