NEW YORK (AP) — A man accused of injuring a toddler by flipping over her stroller on a Queens street has been arrested, police in New York said.

The NYPD charged the 31-year-old Queens man with two counts of assault, reckless endangerment, harassment and acting in a manner injurious to a child for the Friday attack in East Flushing.

Police said the man walked up to the toddler’s 48-year-old grandmother around 6:15 a.m. Friday, began screaming at them and then grabbed the stroller and flipped it over.

The woman told police she didn’t understand English and didn’t know what the suspect was yelling.

The toddler fell onto the pavement and cut her head. She later received stitches for wounds to her head and face at a Queens hospital.

Police responded when the grandmother called 911, and then took the man into custody.

His arraignment at Queens Criminal Court was pending Saturday.

The suspect has a history of assaulting children and has been arrested eight times, mostly for unprovoked assaults, news outlets reported.
