COLUMBUS, Ohio — NPR political correspondent Asma Khalid will host a discussion on the gender gap in politics on Thursday in Columbus, according to WOSU Public Media.

The event will examine the hurdles women candidates face. Women here are underrepresented in elected office, even though they make up the majority of Ohio’s population.

The discussion will also include State Sen. Charleta Taveres, a Democrat of Columbus, and Ohio State political science professor, according to WOSU.

The event is scheduled to begin at 6 p.m. Thursday at the Ohio State University Fawcett Center. Tickets cost $15 for general admission and $5 for students.
