2 killed in the crash of a small plane in southern Oklahoma
ADA, Okla. (AP) — Two people have been killed in the crash of a small plane in southern Oklahoma.
The single-engine Beechcraft Debonair crashed about 3:30 a.m. Friday in a wooded area near Roff, Oklahoma, about 12 miles (19 kilometers) southwest of Ada.
The Oklahoma Highway Patrol identified the dead as pilot Derrick Sutherland, 35, and passenger Dakota Abbott, 30, both of Ada.
The National Transportation Safety Board and Federal Aviation Administration will seek a cause for the crash. Still, OHP Trooper Alan Fortner says rain and fog shrouded the area at the time.
