Spring Valley has close match-up on senior night

October 30, 2017 GMT

SPRING VALLEY – The Spring Valley Timberwolves finished their regular season out 21-8 after a successful run in Parkersburg and nail-biting finish on senior night.

Perhaps one of the biggest accomplishments for the team this season came last weekend in their tournament at Parkersburg.

The Wolves overtook Mussleman to finish third in the tournament last Saturday. A West Virginia team has not beaten Mussleman since 2015 prior to falling to Spring Valley Saturday. They finished out the tournament in the semi-finals falling to George Washington in three sets.

Senior night was a nail biter for the Wolves falling to Hurricane in five sets. The scoring went: 25-17, 17-25, 25-20, 22-25, and 13-15. Spring Valley took matches one and three before falling in the fifth by a close score to end the regular season.

The Wolves staffed six seniors, Brooke Perry, Autumn Pennington, Lakin Wellman, Ashley Gibson, Maggie Livingston, and Lexie Heck.
