Pasadena named good place to kick back after retirement
A new study says that Pasadena is worth considering for those looking for a place to relax after retirement.
The city took the sixth spot in a study by SmartAsset, about the best cities in the U.S. cities for a relaxing retirement.
The city was the only one from Texas in the list’s top 10 and, with a population of 153,000, was one of the smallest. “Retirees looking for a quiet place may find themselves more comfortable here,” according to the study.
Pasadena had top scores in personal care and medical care accessibility. Also abundant are day spas, massage parlors and saunas, the study reported.
Other pluses: easy access to health care at many local medical care establishments and the lowest median monthly housing costs among the top 10 cities in the study.
Listed ahead of Pasadena were the Florida communities of Pembroke Pines, Hialeah and Cape Coral and Glendale and Chula Vista in California.
