Jury selection begins in ex-PSU president’s trial in Sandusky case

In the nearly six years since Jerry Sandusky’s arrest, former Pennsylvania State University President Graham B. Spanier has frequently and forcefully denied accusations that he put children at risk by failing to adequately respond to abuse complaints involving the former assistant football coach.

But the onetime head of the state’s flagship university remained uncharacteristically silent Monday, as he arrived at the Dauphin County Courthouse for the start of his trial on child endangerment and conspiracy charges.
