Yvonne D. Morrison, 65, Temple University Hospital employee
Yvonne D. Morrison, a longtime employee of Temple University Hospital, died on Tuesday, Sept. 12, 2017. She was 65.
She was born on Dec. 4, 1951, to the late William and Anna Brittingham in Philadelphia. She was affectionately named “Fuzzy” by her father. She was the middle child of seven children.
Morrison was educated in the Philadelphia public school system and received her high school diploma from Simon Gratz High School in 1969.
She met the late Alfred Morrison in 1968 and the two of them were inseparable. They were married in 1983 and had one son.
Morrison was a faithful member of the Southern Branch Baptist Church, where she served under the leadership of Bishop Vance Dash for 35 years. She traveled with her pastor as he started the Rhema Deliverance Cathedral. She served as missionary, prayer intercessor, an outreach ministry member and church announcer.
Morrison was employed at Temple Hospital for more than 35 years, where she worked in the Financial Services department and was responsible for helping patients obtain and sustain medical coverage.
She is survived by: her son, Jermaine; daughter-in-law, Keia; siblings, Terrance Brittingham (Florence), Carla Morrison (Nate), Wendy Boone (Walter), Marilyn Brittingham, Joyce Rountree, Willie Bell (Marilyn); grandsons, Romanus, William, Jermaine, Stanley and Jimmy; great-granddaughter, Lola; one aunt; two uncles and other relatives and friends.
Services were held Wednesday at Rhema Deliverance Cathedral, 1201 W. Lehigh Ave.
Emmanuel Johnson Funeral Home handled the arrangements.
