Anna Singer to perform in ‘Bernstein on Broadway’ in her native Sewickley
Anna Singer will perform Bernstein favorites at 8 p.m. July 8 at Snuggery Farm in her native Sewickley. The Pittsburgh Festival Opera show “Bernstein on Broadway,” is a cabaret concert celebrating composer and conductor Leonard Bernstein’s 100th birthday and is arranged and musically directed by Robert Franken berry.
The evening will include a collection of classic Broadway standards from musicals such as a “West Side Story,” “Candide,” and “On the Town,” as well as selections from “Peter Pan” and “1600 Pennsylvania Avenue.”
Singer, an announcer and musical programmer for WQED Radio, has played Mrs. Lovett in “Sweeny Todd” and has been see in “Elektra” at Chatham Opera and “Cendrillion” at Resonance Works Pittsburgh.
Tickets are $35. For an additional $35, guests can attend a pre-concert barbecue.
