OSBI investigates separate police shootings in Oklahoma
CHICKASHA, Okla. (AP) — State investigators are investigating separate police shootings in Chickasha and near Marlow in Stephens County, the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation reported Wednesday.
The OSBI first responded Tuesday night in Chickasha after a woman died after a shootout with police responding to a report of a suicidal woman with a gun. Chickasha police reported the woman fired multiple shots at officers from inside a house. After an officer returned fire, a gunshot was heard from inside the house. Police entered and found the woman dead.
The OSBI said it was withholding the woman’s identity until they could notify relatives.
In a Wednesday shooting in Stephens County, the OSBI says Chickasaw Nation Lighthorse Police engaged in a shootout with three people after a car chase that ended in a business parking lot near Marlow.
No one was injured, and Stephens County sheriff’s deputies detained two subjects for questioning, the OSBI reported. Deputies were searching for a third suspect who fled the scene.
