Man, 68, drowns in pond in Massachusetts
PLYMOUTH, Mass. (AP) — A man drowned in a pond in Plymouth, Massachusetts on Saturday, authorities said.
Plymouth Fire Chief G. Edward Bradley said the drowning happened at White Island Pond at around 3 p.m. The victim was reportedly found by a jet ski operator who brought him to shore prior to calling 911.
First responders performed CPR but the man was unresponsive and pronounced dead at the scene.
Authorities have not yet released the man’s name but WCVB-TV reports he was a 68-year-old Bridgewater resident and had been found near an overturned kayak.
State and local police are investigating. The death is among a spate of recent drownings in the state.
In Worcester, Police Officer Enmanuel ‘Manny’ Familia drowned Friday while trying to save a 14-year-old boy, who also died.
