A man wanted for reportedly shooting a homeowner in Herriman and shooting at multiple police officers was apprehended Wednesday afternoon in Spanish Fork.

The suspect, Justin Llewelyn, reportedly led police on a high speed chase Wednesday on Interstate 15. The chase ended at 800 North Main in Spanish Fork.

Utah County Sheriff’s deputies and Spanish Fork Police officers became involved in the incident in Spanish Fork, according to UCSO Sgt. Spencer Cannon.

The injuries to the deputy were not life threatening, Cannon said, and the reason for the collision is not known.

The suspect fled on foot at the end of the pursuit, Cannon said, but was quickly taken into custody.

Sgt. Brandon Shearer with the Salt Lake City Police Department confirmed the suspect, Llewelyn, 33 is also wanted for shooting a homeowner Saturday in Herriman.

A press release from Unified Police Department states that Llewelyn shot at two police officers just before he broke into a Herriman home and shot and wounded a homeowner while stealing a car. That homeowner is in good condition and is recovering.

“In the months prior to this incident, Justin Llewelyn had been living with family near the Riverton/Herriman border,” the press release. “Llewelyn has extensive criminal history with numerous bookings in to the Salt Lake County Jail over the last 15 years.”

The release warned that Llewelyn was “armed and extremely dangerous,” and urged anyone who came in contact with him to use extreme caution if encountered.

This is a breaking news situation and more information will be released as it is made available.
