Children’s Library To Offer St. Patrick’s Parade Day Drop-by Craft
This week, staff writer Laura Rysz talks with Jenny Shoener about the free family-friendly St. Patrick’s Parade Drop-By Craft at Lackawanna County Children’s Library.
Professional background: Children’s outreach coordinator
Q: What was the inspiration for this event?
A: While so many families will be visiting Scranton for the St. Patrick’s Parade, it’s a wonderful opportunity for us to welcome them into our library and to show them what we can offer their children.
Q: What craft will the children be making?
A: They will make shamrock suncatchers.
Q: Are supplies included?
A: Yes, all supplies are included.
Q: What else will be on hand at the event?
A: After children are finished creating their craft, they can participate in a Leprechaun Hunt, where they will be able to find hidden leprechauns throughout the library to win a small prize.
Q: Why is community support crucial to this cause?
A: The Scranton Public Library supports life-long learners from all walks of life, ages and economic backgrounds. It is a gathering place for all in Scranton and Lackawanna County. The support we receive from the public encourages us to continue to provide programs and services to enrich the lives of our community.
