Suspect in New Bedford park shooting held without bail
NEW BEDFORD, Mass. (AP) — The suspect in a fatal shooting in a New Bedford park has been ordered held without bail.
Syrelle Grace, 18, of Taunton, Mass. was arraigned Monday on a murder charge in connection with the shooting last Thursday of Marcel Francois in Harrington Park.
He was arrested Sunday.
Police responding to 911 calls found Francois, 19, of New Bedford, suffering from gunshot wounds at around 11:30 p.m. He was taken to the hospital and pronounced dead.
Authorities have not disclosed a possible motive in the shooting but witnesses described an argument between the two men
Grace is due back in court for a probable cause hearing on July 29.
