Darlington man charged in Tuesday Jamestown Avenue shooting
DARLINGTON, S.C. -- A Darlington man has been charged with attempted murder and possession of a weapon during a violent crime following a Tuesday afternoon shooting.
Frederick Deon Alford, 41, 501 Journeys End Road, is charged in connection with the 2 p.m. incident on Jamestown Avenue which happened following an argument between a man and his girlfriend’s son, according to information from the Darlington County Sheriff’s Office.
Alford left the shooting scene but was later taken into custody in the Dovesville area.
“Investigators allege Alford did attempt to murder the victim by shooting a shotgun at him and striking the victim in both legs,” Lt. Robert Kilgo, Darlington County Sheriff’s Office, wrote in a release on the arrest.
Alford is expected to appear before a Darlington County magistrate for his initial appearance Thursday.
