MASTIC, N.Y. (AP) — A 47-year-old man was found shot to death in his home on a reservation on Long Island, police said.

Josue Bedell was found dead from a gunshot wound inside his home on the Poospatuck Reservation in Mastic at about 10 a.m. Sunday, Suffolk County police said.

Bedell’s family members had asked police to check on him because they hadn’t been able to reach him since Saturday, police said in a news release.

Police are treating the death as a homicide. They have made no arrests.

The reservation is occupied by the Unkechaug Indian Nation.
