KIRKSVILLE, Mo. (AP) — A Kirksville man who prosecutors said urged an accomplice to fatally shoot a teenager was sentenced Tuesday to 27 years in prison.

Andrew Head, 20, was sentenced for second-degree murder and armed criminal action for his role in the death of 17-year-old Izaiha McFarland. Head was convicted of the charges in June, The Kirksville Daily Express reported.

Head and Zanoni went to an apartment where McFarland was staying on Feb. 6, 2019, because they felt “disrespected” that he was staying there, according to court documents. Prosecutors said Head told Zanoni to “bust,” McFarland and Zanoni shot the victim in the chest.

Zanoni is awaiting trial on second-degree murder and armed criminal action charges.
