Baseball: Wyoming Seminary Rallies For Win
At Wyoming Seminary, Todd Phillips had two triples, while Francis Nockley and Michael Oravic each had two hits to lead Wyoming Seminary to a 7-4 win over Holy Redeemer on Thursday. The Blue Knights scored six runs in the bottom of the sixth to erase a three-run deficit.
Aiden Murphy picked up the win in relief working around two hits and two walks while recording three strikeouts.
Patrick Zarola had two hits for Holy Redeemer including a double. Sean Wills scored a pair of runs. Mykolas Bozentka drove in two.
Hanover Area 7, Holy Redeemer 6
At PNC Field, Matt Clarke had two hits and drove in three runs, and pitched five innings to get the win as Hanover Area opened the season with a victory Wednesday night.
Mike Piscotty had two hits and scored two runs for the Hawks, while also picking up the save. Sean Hart had two hits and two RBIs.
Sean Wills had two hits and two RBIs for Holy Redeemer, while Frankie Desiderio had a triple and scored three runs. Patrick Zarola had a pinch-hit double.
Berwick 1, Nanticoke Area 0
At Berwick, Alec Markle began the bottom of the eighth with a double down the right field line and eventually scored on Henry Novicki’s single to left to lead Berwick to a win over Nanticoke Area.
Tunkhannock 2, Wyoming Area 1
At Tunkhannock, Matt Goodwin pitched in to the seventh inning to pick up the win, and Tyler Faux and Dylan Mislevey each drove in a run to lead Tunkhannock.
Goodwin struck out five and allowed three hits. Jake Stephens came on to get the final two outs for the save.
Chase Yochem and Matt Wright each doubled for Wyoming Area. Dylan Melberger had a single and scored a run.
