FSU’s DeHorsey Receives Award for Defensive Prowess

Fitchburg State junior forward Aislinn DeHorsey was named Longstreth/ NFHCA (National Field Hockey Coaches Association) Defensive Player of the Week on Wednesday afternoon.

The Leominster High alum netted seven points on two goals and three assists as well as making four saves defensive saves in a 2-1 week for the Falcons. DeHorsey posted two assists and one defensive save in a 4-3 overtime setback to WPI on Tuesday before adding one score and a pair of defensive stops in a 3-2 comeback win over Framingham State on Thursday.

DeHorsey concluded the week registering a marker and a helper in addition to one defensive save in a 3-0 shutout victory against Westfield State on Friday. DeHorsey was also awarded this week’s Little East Conference (LEC) Field Hockey Defensive Player of the Week.
