Kayaker dies, another missing off Pictured Rocks in UP

MUNISING, Mich. (AP) — A kayaker died and another paddler was missing Friday in Lake Superior at Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore, authorities said.

The kayakers were reported missing Thursday night in the Upper Peninsula.

“One fatality has been confirmed, and crews are continuing to search for the other missing person,” the National Park Service said.

The search included the use of a helicopter and C-130 aircraft, the Park Service said.

No other details were released.
