Youth League football time is approaching

WAYNE COUNTY — Youth league football programs will begin breaking out the pads, helmets and water coolers for the first practice of the season July 30.

Wayne County will consist of the following teams: Buffalo, Ceredo-Kenova, Wayne, Vinson and Tolsia.

Vinson will be hosting sign ups for football and cheer teams Thursday this week. While Wayne’s last set of signups will be Saturday the July 28 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tolsia, Buffalo and C-K will be accepting signups until the first day of actual practice beginning next Monday.

All of Wayne County’s teams will participate in the Tri-State Youth Football league which includes: Wayne County teams named above, Douglas Cammack Express, Huntington Hawks, Lawrence County Bulldogs, Martin County Cardinals and the Ona/Milton Panthers.

The season will open August 25 for Wayne teams with one or two scrimmages taking place before the season opener.


Both cheerleading and football teams accept boys and girls from ages 5 to 12 with registration fees and forms available at each league’s discretion.
