GRAPEVINE, Texas — Mary M. Genatiempo, 71, of Grape­vine, Texas, passed away Jan. 18, 2017, in Grapevine.

She was born on Sept. 20, 1945, to Paul and Edna (Verhalen) Blayney.

She married Philip A Gena­tiempo on Oct. 6, 1973, in Albany, N.Y.

Mary was a 1963 graduate of Jefferson High School and a certified medical technologist with a bachelor of science from Quincy College in Quincy, Ill. She was employed as a medical technologist in Milwaukee, Muskegon, Mich., and Fort Wayne, Ind. Mary also was employed for over 10 years at Corning Cable Systems in Texas as a lab technician before she retired in 2007.

Mary was an avid quilter, and enjoyed cruising and traveling with family and friends.

She is survived by her husband, Philip Genatiempo of Grapevine, Texas; sons, Daniel (Nancy) Genatiempo of Zionsville, Ind., David (Laura) Genatiempo of New Berlin, Wis.; grandchildren, Max and Meghan Genatiempo, and Luke, Olivia and Eve Genatiempo; sisters, Susan (Roger) Ziegler of Jefferson, Wis., and Holly (Doug) Bridge of Waunakee, Wis.; brothers, Paul (Mary) Blayney of Port Republic, Md. and John (Claire) Blayney of Niagara, Wis.; half-sister, Patricia Scarborough of Kissimmee, Fla.


Memorial Mass will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 11, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Jefferson, Wis., with the Rev. Thomas Coyle officiating. Burial will be in St. John the Baptist Catholic Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. on Friday, March 10, at the Schneider-Michaelis Funeral Home in Jefferson and then again on Saturday at the church from 10 a.m. until time of the mass.
