Boaters rescued by Coast Guard after their boat runs aground

HOPEDALE, La. (AP) — Three boaters were in stable condition at a hospital after being rescued when their boat ran aground, authorities said.

The boaters were airlifted from their flat-bottom boat Sunday evening in the Hopedale area, the U.S. Coast Guard said.

The boat became stranded due to sudden changes in water depth, WBRZ-TV reported.

The boaters were safely hoisted from the boat into a helicopter and taken to shore.
