Man arrested on suspicion of murder in woman’s death
SANDY, Utah (AP) — Police arrested a man on suspicion of murder Monday in the death of a Sandy woman whose body was discovered along a riverbank Sunday after had been reported missing.
William O’Reilly was booked into jail Monday on suspicion of aggravated murder, desecration of a corpse and obstruction of justice, Sandy police announced.
His arrest comes after authorities found the body of Masako Kenley, 53, along the Jordan River in a heavily wooded area with thick brush Sunday, police said. She hadn’t been seen since Friday.
It was unknown if O’Reilly, 75, had an attorney. He was in jail Monday afternoon.
Police said O’Reilly was acquaintance of Kenley, but wouldn’t elaborate on how they knew each other.
Kenley and her husband had four children, according to a GoFundMe page.
