Clyde LeRoy Hone

Our father and grandfather, Clyde LeRoy Hone, 89, returned to his heavenly home on Thursday, November 16, 2017 in Spanish Fork, Utah. Clyde was born March 1, 1928 in Payson, Utah to Frank J and Mary Jane Moore Hone. He attended schools in Benjamin and Spanish Fork, graduating from Spanish Fork High School. He married Geraldine Francom on December 23, 1948 in the Manti, Utah Temple. She passed away on January 31, 1987. He later married Dixie Jarvis in Payson, Utah. She preceded him in death on October 14, 2010.

Clyde proudly served his country in the US Navy during World War II, and in the US Army for the duration of the Korean War. He continued his military service through the Utah National Guard. He was also employed by Trojan Powder Company, Pacific States Pipe Company, and as a Regional Custodian for the LDS Church. He served his Savior faithfully in all church callings. He enjoyed traveling and enjoyed supporting his children and grandchildren in all of their many activities. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend, and deeply treasured his family.


He is survived by his children, Lee (Linda) Hone, Riverton, UT; Craig (KathieLee) Hone, Arizona; Michael (Lana) Hone, Hurricane, UT; Annette (Craig) Draper, Payson, UT; Scott (Terri) Hone, St. George, UT; Kent (Sue) Hone, Payson, UT; Chad Hulet, Son-In-Law, Payson, UT; Brent (Kathy) Jarvis, Joe (Karla) Jarvis, Steve (Corliss) Jarvis, Blake (Sharon) Jarvis, Jeff (Judy) Jarvis, Laurie (Jerry) Purkey, and Natalie Jarvis, all of Spanish Fork, UT. He also leaves behind 41 grandchildren and many great and great, great grandchildren who will miss him dearly.

Clyde was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Geraldine; wife, Dixie; son, Joel Hone; daughter, Michelle Hone Hulet; sisters, Emogene Brailsford, Myrle Miller, Mary Ella Arnold, Darlene Ferguson, Donna Pace; and brothers, Kenneth Hone and Frank Junior Hone.

The family expresses appreciation for the loving care given to Clyde from all the staff at Legacy House of Spanish Fork.

Funeral services will be held Monday, November 20, 2017 at 12:00 p.m. at the LDS Chapel located at 110 South 300 West, Payson, UT. (The old 2nd Ward Green Church). Family and friends may visit on Sunday, November 19, from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Walker Funeral Home, 187 S. Main Street, Spanish Fork, and on Monday morning at the LDS Chapel located at 110 South 300 West, in Payson, from 10:30-11:45 a.m. prior to services. Interment will be in the Payson City Cemetery.
