Bryan Gene Dutson, 70, of Pleasant Grove, Utah passed away on March 21, 2018 in American Fork, Utah. Bryan was born September 26, 1947 in Delta, Utah to Gene and Clea Whatcott and was raised in the Provo Riverbottoms. He graduated from Orem High School in 1965 and attended Provo Technical College. He served his country in the US Army during the Vietnam Conflict.

Bryan married Kristene Ross and they were later divorced. They had two children, Michael and Sheri. He married Susan Kay Sumsion on February 10, 1978 and they enjoyed 40 wonderful years together.

He worked in retail for 30 years, retiring as a department manager from K-Mart in 2014. Bryan was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and enjoyed watching college football.


He is survived by his sweetheart, Susan; children, Michael (Michelle) Dutson, of Pleasant Grove, Sheri Allman, of Orem, Utah; 5 grandchildren; and 3 brothers, Keith (Pam) Ashton, San Bernardino, California, Jim (Lisa) Ashton, Provo, Utah, Wade (Brenda) Ashton, Lehi, Utah. He is also survived by his mother-in-law, Fay Sumsion, Spanish Fork, Utah; Niece, Cristi (Randy) Renshaw, Santaquin,Utah; and grandniece and nephew, Haiden and Macie Reese, Santaquin, Utah.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a step-father, John S. Ashton; father-in-law, Gerald Sumsion; and brother-in-law, Steven Sumsion.

Graveside services will be held March 24, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at Spanish Fork City Cemetery, 420 South 400 East, Spanish Fork, Utah. Family and friends may visit prior to the service from 12:30-1:30 p.m. at Walker Funeral Home, 187 S. Main Street, Spanish Fork, Utah.
