Brookfield honors military heroes on Veterans Day
BROOKFIELD — The local Veterans of Foreign Wars post held its first Veterans Day ceremony in 15 years on Saturday morning.
Joseph Beal, commander of Brookfield VFW Post 10201, led the event at Williams Memorial Park. The ceremony included an opening prayer, the raising of the flag, the call to present arms and the laying of a wreath in front of the town’s military memorial monument.
Beal recounted the sacrifices residents have made in serving in the armed forces and called upon locals to support men and women from Brookfield in the military today, according to a release.
