Body of Lake Champlain boater missing since Monday found
BURLINGTON, Vt. (AP) — Rescue crews have recovered the body of a missing boater on Lake Champlain, police said.
The body of Barry Nelson, 73, of Essex Junction, was found Wednesday, the Burlington Police Department said.
A witness had told police that a man trying to sail a small sailboat near the mouth of the Winooski River on Monday afternoon fell into the water and did not resurface. The sailboat drifted to the north shore.
The U.S. Coast Guard and Customs and Border Protection were part of the search efforts.
