EPHRATA, Wash. (AP) — Motorcycle stunt jumper Alex Harvill of Ephrata, Washington, died from blunt force trauma to the torso after he crashed during a jump last week, according to Grant County Coroner Craig Morrison.

In a statement issued Monday on a Grant County Sheriff’s Office social media page, Morrison ruled Harvill’s death was accidental.

Harvill, 28, died as a result of injuries suffered during a practice jump Thursday for the Moses Lake Airshow at the Grant County International Airport in Ephrata. Harvill was trying to break the record for the world’s longest motorcycle jump from a moveable launching ramp to a dirt landing ramp when he attempted the 351-foot jump.

Harvill is survived by his wife and their two small children. A GoFundMe page created for the family had raised $82,240 as of Sunday afternoon, the sheriff’s office said.
