Threat found at Wash High

By Natalie Reid MillerStaff writernmiller@observer-reporter.comA threat written on a bathroom wall caused Washington School District officials to delay the start of school Friday.A student discovered the threat Thursday afternoon in a high school bathroom.Students in the junior and senior high schools will start at 10:30 a.m. and will not be permitted to carry bookbags, said Superintendent Dr. Roberta DiLorenzo.Washington Park Elementary School is not affected and will run on a normal schedule.DiLorenzo said officials believe the threat was a student hoax, but are taking it seriously. The school has been checked by Washington police. A police K-9 unit will sweep the school again tomorrow morning.Check back with the Observer-Reporter for further information.
