Police notebook for March 2, 2019

Between 8:27 a.m. on Feb. 26 and 7:20 a.m. on March 1, police responded to 117 calls, including the following:
Highway 33: Police at 8:51 a.m. on Feb. 26 cited Adam C. Hill, 29, of Baraboo, for a third offense of operating after license suspension and not having proof of insurance.
Summit Street: Police at 5:37 p.m. on Feb. 26 cited Nathan J. Faul, 43, of Wisconsin Dells, for trespassing and Richard J. Wilson, 53, of Poynette, for disorderly conduct.
West Cook Street: Police at 12:52 p.m. on Feb. 27 took a 17-year-old Portage male into custody on suspicion of battery.
East Edgewater Street and DeWitt Street: Police at 1:52 a.m. on Feb. 28 arrested Nicholas S. Wentz, 26, of Portage, for a second offense of operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated, failure to install an ignition interlock device and a criminal first offense of operating after license revocation. A warrant was obtained for a blood draw.
Washington Street: Police at 9:53 a.m. on Feb. 28 arrested Robert J. Heady, 29, of Portage, for a first offense of operating while intoxicated. Police also cited Heady for possession of drug paraphernalia.
East Cook Street: Police at 6:46 p.m. on Feb. 28 responded to a report of theft. A person told police two tires, a spare tire and a car jack had been stolen from the trunk of a vehicle.
East Conant Street: Police at 3:58 a.m. on March 1 arrested a 48-year-old Portage man for domestic disorderly conduct and transported him to Columbia County Jail. A 72-hour no contact order was issued.
