TRUMBULL — Those looking to take in some local art can stop by Trumbull Town Hall during the month of March to see a town resident’s paintings on display.

Jacky Fromentin, a French-American painter and chef, has had a love of painting since the 1990s, he said.

He was raised in Normandy, France, where he pursued life as a chef, eventually becoming the chef on a Navy vessel — La Jeanne d’Arc. While on board the vessel was when he caught his first glimpse of the United States.

Fromentin moved to the U.S. when he was 23. He now lives in Trumbull.

He graduated from the Culinary Institute of America. Fromentin retired from his chef duties in 2016 and continues to follow his love for painting. He specializes in oils and landscapes in his art.
