May 2, 2019

TAYLOR — Riverside and Mid Valley school districts will each receive more than $100,000 in state grants for school safety and security projects. Riverside received a $128,360 grant for security-related technology and security planning. Mid Valley received $106,476 in state funding for counseling services, licensed social workers and school psychologists and staff training in de-escalation and positive behavior supports. The grants come from the Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency and are administered by the PCCD’s School Safety and Security Committee. The committee, which was formed last year, works to establish criteria school systems use to assess safety and security. — CLAYTON OVER
