Saturday is Apple Pie Day in Ayer
AYER -- St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church has a full schedule of upcoming events. On Saturday, Oct. 20, the parish hosts its annual Apple Pie Day.
Eighty pies will be made from scratch to fulfill pre-orders. Westward Orchards in Harvard donated baskets upon baskets of apples to be peeled, chopped and loaded into pie shells. Each pie costs $12. To order a pie, call the church at 978-772-2615.
St. Andrew’s annual Holiday Fair will be held Saturday, Nov. 17. Local artisans and crafters with their wares will be on hand, along with bakers and cooks. The famous Parish Beef Stew and Apple Pie will be available for lunch.
On Saturdays, Dec. 15 and Dec. 16, St. Andrew’s welcomes Carolyn Smith’s enormous nativity display, In A Manger. The Parish Hall and Sanctuary will be filled with more than 500 different nativities from around the world. Fresh cookies, cider and hot chocolate will be served. The event is free and open to the public.
St. Andrew’s is at 7 Faulkner St., and is an open and affirming church. The Sunday worship service is at 9:30 a.m. Sunday school for children ages 3-12 begins at 9:15. Free care for infants and toddlers is available beginning at 9:15.
