Mother, three boys, daughters, killed in house fire
RANCHO CORDOVA, Calif. (AP) _ A house fire killed a mother, her three sons and daughter early Sunday, and investigators were trying to find a cause.
Firefighters called to the suburban Sacramento home at 1:15 a.m. found a 9-year-old girl on the porch and the mother and three boys aged 2, 6 and 7, inside, sheriff’s department spokesman Jim Cooper said.
A neighbor who heard cries tried to hose off the oldest child, whose entire body was on fire. She died later in the day.
Investigators questioned the husband, 28-year-old Ernest Nunez, who was visiting friends nearby when the fire broke out.
