GETTYSBURG, Pa. (AP) — A Pennsylvania man has been indicted on charges that he hurled a firebomb through the window of a county courthouse, federal prosecutors said Thursday.

Samson P. Yohe, 28, of Gettysburg, was charged with two counts: malicious attempt to destroy building by fire and explosive, and possession of an unregistered destructive device.

Yohe tossed a Molotov cocktail through a window of the Adams County Courthouse in Gettysburg on Dec. 22, according to the U.S. attorney’s office in Harrisburg. The courthouse was closed at the time.

The firebomb consisted of an antique yellow bottle filled with liquid. A cotton sock was used as a wick and was lighted before the device was thrown, prosecutors said. The device did not explode.

Yohe was previously charged in state court with arson, risking a catastrophe, possession of weapons of mass destruction and other counts. He remained jailed without bail Thursday. A message seeking comment was left with his attorney in the state case.

Prosecutors did not reveal a possible motive.
