Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office: Man arrested after break-in at Chesapeake Flea Market

IRONTON: The following information was compiled from Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office reports:

BREAKING AND ENTERING: Sheriff’s deputies arrested a Coal Grove man on theft charges after a 78-year-old man reported someone broke into a stall at the Chesapeake Flea Market and reported several items were reported stolen. Darrell L. Carrico, 34, of Coal Grove, was transported to jail on drug and theft charges as well as being a felon in possession of a weapon.

DOMESTIC VIOLENCE: Responding to a domestic violence call, sheriff’s deputies arrested Kevin R. Barnett, 52, of Township Road 1079, Chesapeake, on felony charges of domestic violence and disrupting public service and transported him to jail.

DOMESTIC VIOLENCE: Responding to a domestic violence call Saturday, a sheriff’s deputy arrested Norman L. Fulks II, 43, of Township Road 1111, Proctorville, on charges of domestic violence, disrupting public service and theft and transported him to jail.

THEFT: A 36-year-old Proctorville area man reported last week that he was scammed out of $2,000 in an attempt to buy a motorcycle.

THEFT OF A FIREARM: A 42-year-old South Point area man last week told authorities that someone stole a Smith & Wesson handgun valued at $350 from his home.

DOMESTIC VIOLENCE: A 77-year-old South Point area man said a relative choked him and threatened to kill him last week and demanded money and he wrote out a check for $60.

VANDALISM: A representative of Collins Career Center reported earlier this month that a student punched and damaged a computer valued at $1,000.

CRIMINAL DAMAGING: A representative of South Point Middle School reported earlier this month that a student kicked a section of bleachers, damaging it. The student’s grandparents agreed to pay for the damages.
