December 3, 2019

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) — A wounded man who was pulled from a burning vehicle in North Carolina has died.

Citing a press release, news outlets report Charlotte-Mecklenburg police were called Monday evening about shots fired in a neighborhood. Officers found the man wounded inside a car that was on fire.

Police say the man was pulled from the car as firefighters put out the flames. Officers performed CPR, but the man was pronounced dead at the scene. Police haven’t identified him.

No suspect has been named and no arrests have been made.

The death is Charlotte’s 103rd homicide. Mayor Vi Lyles says she plans to ask the new city council that was sworn in Monday night to review homicide cases and work to fight the violence.
