Suspect who police say shot his roommate identified
OREGON CITY, Ore. (AP) — A man who police say shot and wounded his roommate on Friday in Oregon City before barricading himself in an apartment has been identified.
The Oregonian/OregonLive reports that officials on Saturday identified the suspect as 31-year-old Daniel Wiese.
Around 3:30 p.m. Friday, the victim, who was not identified, called police and said he’d been shot by Wiese in the unit they shared at the Mt. View Apartments.
Officers determined the victim was in a bedroom and broke out a window to extract him from the apartment. He was taken to the hospital at OHSU with life-threatening injuries.
A SWAT team tried to convince Wiese to come out peacefully. Eventually, he came out.
He’s being held without bail on suspicion of attempted murder, assault and unlawful use of a weapon.
