Get your bibs ready and prepare your appetite.

The Humble Police Association will host the 23rd annual all-you-can-eat crawfish festival on April 26 at the Humble Civic Center at 6 p.m.

Every year, the Humble Police Association holds this fundraiser to give back to local charities and create local scholarship opportunities.

“It is an event of the police association so you get to look beyond the uniform, you get to look beyond the badge and see that we’re just people too. We’re out there having fun, and it’s just a part of getting to know our neighbors,” HPA Treasurer Twyla Kimberlin said.

Since last year’s turnout of about 1,000 people were able to finish 6,000 pounds of crawfish, the Humble Police Association made sure to get 7,000 pounds with an additional reserve of 500 pounds of crawfish to feed the hungry crowd.

Entertainment will be provided and a silent auction will take place from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. as well as a live auction at 8 p.m.

There will also be a designated area called Camp Gladiator for children to enjoy.

The Citizens Police Academy Alumni will be selling barbecue sandwiches, hot dogs, nachos and drinks at the event.

Tickets are $30 at the Humble Police Department at 310 Bender Avenue or on Eventbrite, a fee will be added if tickets are purchased through Eventbrite.

Kimberlin said she is able to deliver tickets to those who are not able to pick them up. Tickets can also be bought at the door.

Donations can also be made on the Eventbrite page.
