Reflections, remembrance: Year-round remembrance for veterans encouraged
Don’t let Memorial Day be the only day respects be given.
Those sentiments were echoed in the invocation, the comments of emcee Rick Plummer and keynote speaker and U.S. Coast Guard Chief Boatswain’s Mate Mark Szoboszlay during the Memorial Day Service late Monday morning at Stearns Park in Ludington.
“Take time today to remember the service men and women on duty around the world, serving to protect our freedom and our democratic way of life. As you leave here today to spend time with your friends and families, and you carry on with your jobs this upcoming week, keep all of the members of the Armed Forces as well as their families and loved ones, in your thoughts and prayers,” Szoboszlay, the chief at the U.S. Coast Guard Station in Ludington, said.
