A leading Nevada lawmaker endorses Biden presidential bid
CARSON CITY, Nev. (AP) — A leading Nevada Democrat is endorsing former Vice President Joe Biden in his bid for the presidency.
Nevada Sen. Yvanna Cancela endorsed Biden on Thursday after the Democrat formally joined the Democratic presidential contest.
Cancela outlined her support in a statement and says she believes in Biden as a leader, commenting that he “has the experience and heart to move the country forward.” She says “we need a president who’s committed to working people and the fight for a sustainable and accessible middle class.”
Cancela is the former political director of the Culinary Workers Union, an organization that has political clout.
