Seven South Aiken Thoroughbreds earned a spot on the Aiken Standard’s Girls’ Soccer All-Area team led by Player of the Year Edie Demedicis.

Demedicis was a leader of a defensive unit that only allowed one goal during region play. The senior signed a letter of intent to play for Erskine College. Demedicis is joined by her South Aiken teammates Gracie Beeson, Jordan Myers, Haleigh Bollig, Megan Musick, Mckenzie Peskar and Hailey Roth.

Myers led the team in goals scored this season as a freshman with 19. She also had 14 assists. Beeson scored 12 goals and Bollig scored 11 with 13 assists in shortened seasons.

Musick, Peskar and Roth were all members of the All-Region team as well. The group helped the T-Breds make another run to the state semifinals.

North Augusta is represented on the All-Area team by Hyori McDowell, Erin Redwood and Megan Penner. McDowell, who was a finalist for Player of the Year, led the Yellow Jackets with 12 goals and 11 assists. Redwood scored five goals and Penner was selected to the All-Region team.

Aiken’s Paige Maivelett is the lone representative from Aiken and Fox Creek’s Grayson Kirkland rounds out the team.
